Why do we feel persistent shame, sadness, or hopelessness? Why do we find ourselves in situations and relationships that are hurtful and unsatisfying? Why do we repeat behaviors that hurt? Why can’t we find the motivation to become who we know we can? Why are we addicted? Often it is because we are relying on maladaptive coping skills and defense mechanisms to navigate challenging or even traumatic circumstances in our lives.

I wholeheartedly believe in the ability and resiliency of the human spirit. Throughout history we have evidence of individuals overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds. I believe we can all access our inner warrior through willingness, determination and work. Learning new and healthier ways of protecting ourselves and coping allows us to fully grow and thrive. I am grateful that I am able to guide and act as a witness for individuals, couples and families on their healing journeys.
